Job Title: Recovery Hero 2.0

Position Overview: As a Recovery Hero, you're not just a team member—you're a superhero in the battle for addiction recovery. Armed with your lived experience and an unyielding spirit, you soar into action to help individuals and families conquer the challenges of recovery. Your mission: to guide, inspire, and connect those navigating their path to a brighter future. With the heart of a warrior and the compassion of a guardian, you are the force that helps peers and families unleash their inner powers and transform their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Heroic Guidance:
    • Be a Beacon of Hope: Shine your light into the darkest corners of addiction, offering peers a lifeline of support and motivation.
    • Inspire and Empower: Share your own heroic journey through recovery, demonstrating that even the toughest battles can be won.
    • Lead with Courage: Facilitate powerful groups where peers can gather their strength, share their stories, and unite in their quest for recovery.
  • Resourceful Rescues:
    • Connect with Precision: Use your superhuman resourcefulness to link peers  with essential services—whether it’s treatment, housing, education, or employment, you know exactly where to turn.
    • Forge Alliances: Collaborate with other community superheroes, creating a network of support that ensures every client has what they need to succeed.
    • Stay Vigilant: Keep your knowledge sharp and up-to-date, always ready to deploy the latest resources and strategies in the fight for recovery.
  • Champion Advocacy:
    • Stand as a Shield: Advocate for your peers, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights respected in every arena.
    • Spread the Message: Take to the streets—or the skies—on outreach missions, raising awareness of the recovery journey and the life-changing services offered by Navigate Recovery Gwinnett.
    • Heroic Storytelling: Step onto the stage and share your recovery story with the world, becoming a beacon of hope and a champion of the organization’s mission.
  • Legendary Documentation:
    • Chronicle Your Heroics: Keep meticulous records of your heroic deeds, documenting client interactions, progress, and outcomes with precision and care.
    • Contribute to the Cause: Assist in gathering data to enhance the effectiveness of programs and services, ensuring every client has the best shot at victory.
  • Ongoing Hero Training:
    • Sharpen Your Skills: Participate in continuous training and education to maintain your peer support certification and stay at the top of your game.
    • Join the Hero Council: Collaborate with fellow heroes in regular meetings, sharing insights, strategies, and stories from the front lines to strengthen your collective impact.

Qualifications:

  • Proven Hero Status: Personal experience in the battle of addiction recovery, with at least two years of active recovery under your utility belt.
  • Certified Superpowers: Certified Peer Support Specialist, or the determination to obtain your certification within six months of joining the squad.
  • Super Communication: Exceptional communication, listening, and interpersonal skills—connecting with others is your superpower.
  • Lone Wolf and Team Player: Able to work independently but thrive as part of a dynamic team of heroes.
  • Champion of Diversity: Deep understanding of recovery principles, trauma-informed care, and a commitment to cultural sensitivity in every mission.
  • Heroic Integrity: Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and ethics, always acting with the honor of a true hero.

Work Environment:

  • Flexible Missions: Your hero duties may require evening and weekend missions to support peers  when they need it most.
